“I chucked my maid out and started doing all the household chores on my own. Since I am a stay-at-home mom, it was easy for me to manage without any domestic help. “I was a tea addict and dessert for lunch was a must. I gave up sugar completely after I read Milind Soman’s interview in a magazine. Two months without sugar and brisk walking for 40 minutes every day helped me lose 6 kilos in 2 months. I also tried to keep my meals low calorie during this time,” says Fatima from Noida. “I love dancing but didn’t have the time to join a professional dance class or Zumba. So I decided to start doing it at home. I followed dance and Zumba videos available online and ensured that I dedicate at least 45 minutes for dancing. These 45 minutes were the best part of the day and I never took a rest day because this workout made me happy. Within a month I could fit in my old jeans and my skin glows. “I tried joining a few gyms in the past years and it was a waste. I could never motivate myself to go every day. So I decided to give home workouts a try. Started with basic leg lifts, squats and crunches. I followed a few instructional videos to do the exercises right. Within a few weeks, I took up the squat and crunch challenge and kept pushing limits. It was exciting as I could exercise anytime I wanted from the comfort of my home. The right food and 40 minutes of exercise every day for 3 months helped me lose 4 inches,” says Akriti from Surat.
